7. We are Proles, because we have many things we're allowed to do that party members cant. Such as how we're told in the book they are allowed to marry who they choose, be without surveillance, and can follow religion. But party members live a much more strict life always under watch by the thought police. So i say we're more like proles.
8. The goal of newspeak, as Symon said is to "eliminate thought crime". And i believe this is a very good method, newspeak eliminates much of our language, so for most people it's not even possible to commit a thought crime if they wanted to. So yes, it is a very effective method of control.
6. Winston's job at the ministry is to change old articles that contradict Big Brother and the Party. He helps the party seem like everything is always getting better and life is better now then it was before. This is very contradictory to who he he is, he hates Big Brother and the Party and wants everyone to see how corrupt their society is. This is shown when he repeatedly says "down with Big Brother" in his diary.
10. Our language contains very few similarities to newspeak. In the book we're shown how they say "ungood' instead of bad, and our language is not anywhere near that simplified, and unlike their society where they have less words every year, we have more. So while our language may have conjunctions, it is not that simplified.
1. No, of course it would mean living in a safer country, but, is it worth it? what kind of crimes could it really stop? i say no, it would be safer but it would not be liked, be me or anyone,Winston and Julia both male it obvious by risking so much and trying so hard to get alone as much as they can. No one in our country would want that, you just need some privacy sometimes. But yes, our country does sacrifice some privacy for safety, such as surveillance cameras. And they do so because safety is still very important.
