1. Are you willing to give up your privacy if constant government surveillance means living in a safe country? Does America seem to be willing to give up their privacy? why?
No i am not because i would rather live free and potentially get hurt then live having someone watch me all the time. Yes in a way i think America is willing to give up their privacy to a certain extent because people do give up their privacy everyday by posting things on social media whether or not they realize they are giving up their privacy or not any one can see it which is potentially an invasion of privacy.
2. What are some of the ways that the government controls the people of Oceania? Is this level of government involvement okay if it means it serves a greater purpose?
They control the people by changing documents of the past to match what actually happened and by changing stories so they are always going with the party instead of against like the war hero Winston created. No i don't think its ok to change things and lie.
3. How does technology advance the Party’s agenda in 1984?
Its let them have greater control over the people and lets them watch peoples every move from the telescreen which helps them know exactly what happens and what people do.
4. Is technology today more or less advanced than it is in the book? Is this a good or a bad thing?
I think we are more advanced because we have phones, computers, and space rockets. I think that so far it's been a good thing.
5. How does technology allow people to violate other people’s freedoms? Is the loss of privacy partially self-imposed?
It allows people to violate other people's freedoms because they can take a picture of whatever they want and post it and then everyone can see or they can find out each others personal information from the computer. Yes i think it is self imposed because if you go on the internet and put out your personal information you have to expect people to see it and take it.
