1. Is technology today more or less advanced than it is in the book? Is this a good or a bad thing?
Technology today is more advanced than it was in the book. this could be a good thing for the people but also a bad thing, because the government can track you down and watch you by cameras.
2. How does technology advance the Party’s agenda in 1984?
Technology advances the party's agenda because it controls the people and it watches them and evey move they do.
3. How does technology allow people to violate other people’s freedoms? Is the loss of privacy partially self-imposed?
Technology allows people to violate other people's freedoms because they do not get any privacy with them being watched. The loss of privacy is not self-imposed because it not the peoples fault that they are being watched. it is the party that is watching them and forcing that to happen. Also they are having kids watch people for things they are not supposed to be doing.
4. Are you willing to give up your privacy if constant government surveillance means living in a safer country? Does America seem to be willing to give up their privacy? Why?
I am not willing to give up my privacy to live in a safer country because anywhere you live isn't safe. America does not seem to be giving up there privacy. Because nothing in the book is happening now.
5.What is the goal of Newspeak? Do you believe that this is an effective method of control?
The goal of Newspeak is to keep people from doing things there not supposed to do in the party. I do believe this is a method of control because its controlling them to do other things other than what they want to do.
