2. What are some of the ways that the government controls the people of Oceania? Is this level of government involvement okay if it means it serves a greater purpose? The government controls the people of Oceania by using telescreens that listen to them and watch them and they have posters about the government with phrases on them that make them fear the government. 3. How does technology advance the Party’s agenda in 1984? Technology helps the party by controlling the people and they have people change stuff in newspapers and books so it makes the government look good . 4. Is technology today more or less advanced than it is in the book? Is this a good or a bad thing? Technology today is more advanced than it is in the book and it is a good thing if it is used correctly. 5. How does technology allow people to violate other people’s freedoms? Is the loss of privacy partially self-imposed? You can hack people’s stuff and find information out about people with technology and invade their privacy. The loss of privacy is partially self-imposed because people want the technology, but accept what could happen when they use it. 7. Are we "Proles" or "Party Members"? We are party members because we are not poor and we are middle class.

I agree that the government uses the telescreen to listen in on people's conversations. Also that the government uses propaganda to make them fear their government. Also in question 3 I agree that because they can control the people they can advance on into whatever it is they want.

I somewhat agree that we are party members but I also think we are proles like some people have no money and no homes.

I somewhat agree to question 4, but I think that technology is a bad thing because we are being distracted by it.
